Healthy Eating Program

At Campbell House School, we’re committed to helping students make healthy food and drink choices every day.

While our school doesn’t operate a canteen, every student has access to breakfast, recess and lunch at no cost.

Classrooms also have fresh fruit and water available throughout the day.

Our healthy eating program is supported by the school’s vegetable garden, regular deliveries from OzHarvest, and purchased fresh food items.

Students are encouraged to take part in growing, preparing and sharing food as part of daily routines and project-based learning.

Breakfast

Breakfast provides a calm and positive start to the day and helps students get ready for learning.

Students can start their day with toast, raisin toast, Milo and/or fruit.

Recess

A seasonal fruit platter is available in the playground each morning.

Students are welcome to take sliced fruit as they wish.

From time to time, there may be extra options such as pancakes, muffins or cookies prepared by staff or students.

Lunch

Our lunch program features fresh, home-made meals prepared by support staff.

Meals always include plenty of vegetables and are made with care to meet all dietary requirements.

We follow Department of Education guidelines around allergies, nuts, and halal options.

Typical menu items include:

  • Curries and stir-fries
  • Pasta dishes and quiches
  • Sandwiches, burgers or salads

Pizza Day

Run by: Year 7-10 Project Day Cooking Class

When: Approximately every second Thursday (weather and fire danger permitting).

Cost: $5 or CHS Bucks

Students gain valuable hands-on work experience by running the pizza business — from taking orders to preparing, cooking and delivering wood-fired pizzas across the Hilltop.

Pizza Day is the only day when there’s a small fee, and pizzas are for school consumption only (not for taking home).

VET Hospitality and Cafe

Senior students (Years 11–12) can study Certificate II in Hospitality as part of their subjects.

As part of the course, they complete service periods and host restaurant days, where staff and students are invited to attend.

Some menu items may have a small cost to cover ingredients.

Students also complete barista training and operate Grounded Café, where they serve hot chocolates and milkshakes.

Note: Caffeinated drinks are not available for purchase.

Mini Woolworths

We’re proud to share access to a Mini Woolworths located in the shared Hilltop Hall.

This authentic learning space allows students to practise workplace and life skills through hands-on learning in a real-world setting.

Students use the store as part of lessons across a range of curriculum areas.
